We welcome you to our application as well as our website and the products and services provided by us. “Techee” is an application providing marketplace platform to connect customers with professional technicians/engineers for maintenance and repair services for personal computers / laptops / other information technology / softwares and electronic devices.
This document, i.e., Privacy Policy (“Policy”) contains the manner and details in which Appothon Technology Private Limited, owner of the marketplace platform known as ‘Techee’ which is available on digital device applications known as ‘Techee’ (for the customers) and ‘Techee Engineer’ (for the professional engineers / technicians (“App(s)”, “we”, “our”, “us”) collects and processes the data that you, the reader of this Policy (“User”, “you”, “your”), provide to us, when you visit our website https://www.techee.in (“Website”) and/or use our Apps.
We collect and process certain data through the Apps and the Website for the purpose of offering our marketplace platform. We understand that the data that we may collect may contain information that is personal and sensitive in nature. Since we value the privacy and security of your personal information as much as you do, we would like you to understand the exact nature of the personal data that we collect from you and how we will use it, store it and whom we may share it with.
Additionally, please also read our Terms of Use for the Apps available at https://techee.in/terms-of-use/. This Policy and the Terms of Use are to be read in consonance and form part of a single understanding. Any capitalized terms not defined herein, shall be deemed to mean as defined in the Terms of Use.

2.2. We would like to highlight that the aforementioned collection of data by us is in pursuance of the Terms of Use. We keep the legitimate interests of our users in mind at all times and any data collection and processing is done in accordance with applicable law. Using the Apps may require you to receive text messages (from us or third-party service providers) with One-Time Passwords (OTPs) for the purposes of registering on the Apps and/or setting up unique user passwords set by the user for accessing the Account. Such passwords shall not be disclosed to anyone. If you share the password or your personal data with anyone, the same shall be done at your sole risk and responsibility. You are solely responsible for actions taken by you on the Apps. In the event your password has been compromised for any reason, you must immediately notify us to change your password. By continuing to access our Website or use our Apps or avail our services on the Apps, you are deemed to have provided your express consent to the collection and processing of data and information from you in the manner set out in this Privacy Policy.
2.3. We reserve the right to record the conversations between service professionals and consumers facilitated by us through the messaging/chat mechanism on the Apps or the calls made through the virtual numbers provided to safeguard the privacy of consumers and service professionals. All the chat/messaging logs or call recordings can be used to but not limited to monitor and prohibit abuse, safeguard the rights of consumers and service professionals, and resolve disputes. We collect the data submitted by Users when they contact Techee customer support, provide ratings or compliments for other users (which are not customers). This may include feedback, photographs or other recordings collected by Users, including audio or video recordings submitted by Users in connection with the customer support. This will also include the metadata relating to the method you use to communicate with us. We may also, from time to time, supplement the information we collect about you through your usage of our Website or the Apps or any third-party services.
2.4. No data in respect of payments methods (including credit card/ debit card details, net-banking details, UPI’s, etc.) is collected, processed or stored by us. All such data may be collected, stored or used by the payment gateway/ processor on their servers/ clouds, while processing your payments on the Apps. Storage of such data shall be in accordance with the terms of use and privacy policies of such third-parties. Presently, the Apps uses services offered by Razor pay Software Private Limited for facilitating payments on the Apps.
3. Usage of information from the app
The Apps facilitate your sharing of personal information with others in order to negotiate, provide and use the services. If you use the Apps to avail the services thereon, you may need to reveal your name, email, phone number, address, to the professional technicians/ engineers so that the service chosen by you through the Apps can be performed. Please respect the privacy of others as we respect yours. You agree to use the information of the professional empaneled with us solely for the purposes of our services as provided on the Apps.
4. Technical information collected by us through your use of the app / website
Certain type of technical information is automatically collected by us when you use the Apps or any of the services or features available on the Apps. Such technical information includes information about type of Device (such as unique device ID, network connection type, provider, network and Device performance, Device’s geographic location, data from text messages for automatic updation of one time passwords, browser type, operating system, version of the App, picture/ screenshot of issue faced (as uploaded by the User), model number and serial number of the device) on which the Apps are being accessed on. We would like to mention again that such technical information is deemed to be collected with your express consent.

6.1. We may partner with third parties, such as Facebook and Google, to manage our advertising of the Apps/ Website on other sites or platforms as well as across other Devices you use, based on your past visits to our Apps/ website. Our third-party partners may use technologies such as cookies to gather data about your activities within the Apps/ Website to deliver such advertising to you, including retargeting advertisements. Some of these cookies may be connected to third-party companies or websites. The terms of use of such cookies are governed by this Policy and the privacy policy of the relevant third party partners. We are not always able to respond to ‘do-not-track signals’. Please note that this does not opt you out of being served advertisements. You may continue to receive generic advertisements on these third-party platforms. You may also opt out of receiving advertisements across devices by adjusting your ad preference in your relevant Device account, Google account, Apple account, etc.
6.2. We use third party trackers to let us know when users have visited the Apps/ Website by “clicking-through” our sponsored advertising or content hosted on third party platforms. The Apps/ Website use third party analytics code to gather statistical data. Such an analytics code sets cookies to help us accurately estimate the number of visitors to the Apps/ Website and the volume of usage of the services.
6.3. We may also use mobile analytics software to allow us to better understand the functionality of our Apps on your phone. The Apps may record data such as how often you engage with it, avail/offer services using the Apps, the events that occur within the Apps, aggregated usage and performance data and where the Apps was downloaded from. We may also link such data stored within the analytics software to any personal data that you submit within the Apps.

The Apps and our analytics partners use technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags, scripts and other tracking technologies (“Technologies”) to enable a service to recognize your Device such as your browser type, your ISP or operating system, your domain name, your access time, your page views, your IP address, and the type of device that you use so you don’t have to provide the same data several times during one task, to recognize that you may have already given a username and password so you don’t need to do it every time you use the App, and to measure how people are using our Apps. We use automated data collection tools such as cookies and web beacons to collect certain information.
7.2 What are Cookies?
A cookie is a small text file that is placed on the storage drive of your Device by a web page server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by a web server in the domain that issued the cookie to you. Web beacons, tags, and scripts may be used on the website or in emails to help us deliver cookies, count visits, understand usage and advertising campaign effectiveness, and determine whether an email has been opened and clicked on. We may receive reports based on the use of the Technologies by our service/ analytics providers on an individual and aggregated basis.

10.1 From time to time and in accordance with applicable law, we may share your personal data with third-parties such as (a) service providers, business partners and advisors; (b) fraud prevention vendors; (c) payment gateways and processors; (d) law enforcement authorities; (e) our group companies, subsidiaries and affiliates; (f) advertising partners; (j) data analytical engines; (k) social media partners (only to the extent required); (l) any entity which seeks to acquire or invest in Appothon Technology Private Limited including merger, sale of substantial assets or reorganization.
10.2 We shall not be held liable or responsible for any of your personal data (or loss thereof) that is shared by us with third parties such as payment gateways and processors, technicians, service providers which facilitate the use of the services on the Apps/ Website and shall not be held responsible in any manner whatsoever.
11. How do we protect your data?
11.1. We implement technical and organizational measures to help protect the security of your personal data including pseudonymization, encryption, access, and retention policies to guard against unauthorized access and unnecessary retention of personal data in our systems.
11.2. Everything is stored on a local data center storage located within India employing standard security measures. Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we implement and maintain reasonable measures to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of the information transmitted through our Apps/ Website, therefore we do not assume any responsibility for any transmission of your information which you do at your own risk.
12. Retention and deletion of data
12.1. Retention of data: We collect and store your data for only as long as it is necessary for you to access your Account to use the Apps. In addition to this, we may also retain your data for legitimate and essential business purposes, including but not limited to making data-driven business decisions, complying with legal obligations, settlement of past dues, assisting with any investigations, enforcement of our Terms and Conditions and resolving any disputes that may arise from time to time.
12.2. Deletion of data: Subject to 12.1 above and unless legally mandated to store such data, upon receiving a request, we will delete all your personal data or anonymize it so that such data is no longer identifiable to you in any manner.
12.3. Finally, and this is important, you should understand that anyone can always save any data using any number of techniques: screenshots or any other image-capture technology. It is also possible, as with any digital information, that someone might be able to access messages forensically or find them in a Device’s temporary storage. Keep in mind that, while our systems are designed to carry out our deletion practices automatically, we cannot guarantee that deletion will occur within a specific timeframe. And we may need to suspend those deletion practices if we receive a valid legal process asking us to preserve content or if we receive reports of abuse or other Terms of Use and/ or EULA violations.
13. Transfer of Data
While the Apps are based in India, in certain specified cases, we may have to transfer your data to third-parties that are located in countries other than India or to the country you are accessing the Apps from. Therefore, your personal data may be subject to privacy laws that are different from your country. In such an instance, please note that we shall transfer your personal data in accordance with applicable privacy laws and your acceptance of the Terms of Use, the EULA and this Policy as well as use of our Apps shall be considered as consent towards such transfer of personal data.
14. In the event of change of control
In the event Appothon undergoes a change in control, including but not limited to, a merger or sale of all or substantially all of our assets to which these Apps relate or other corporate reorganization in which we participate and is subsequently merged with or acquired by a third party entity, we reserve the right to transfer the data collected from you to such third party entity in accordance with applicable law and your consent will be deemed to have been provided for the same.
